Motive: Unrequited Love
Carolyn went to school with Martin and always had eyes for him. They recently ran into one another at a press convention. Carolyn found her admiration for Martin had only grown since last they met, being particularly impressed with his growing fame. When Carolyn confessed her feelings, Martin flatly rejected her. She was devastated and killed him in the heat of the moment.
Concealed Evidence: Fingerprints
The murder took place in a museum where Carolyn, Martin, and some other journalists were taking a tour. She led him to a weapons exhibit before confessing her feelings for him. After he rejected her, she took a sword from the exhibit and killed him with it. She used a handkerchief to wipe her fingerprints from the sword.
Alibi: With a Tour Group
Carolyn is very familiar with this museum and cut through an employee-only area so that she could quickly and quietly rejoin the group. No one noticed that she had been absent.
Frame Up: Janitor
Carolyn planted her handkerchief — with Martin’s blood on it — in a janitor’s locker. He was charged with the murder.
